The movie Green Book is based on true historical events and is about two men. Tony Lip who hates black people, Don Shirley who is greatest pianist of his time.

One of his quote on violence made me think of great people like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.

“You never win with violence.” ~Don Shirley

Mahatma Gandhi was the man who believed in non-violent protests to solve problems. He believed that violence isn’t the only way to gain rule or power, patience is the key element to success. Gandhi’s peaceful strategies made India an independent country.

Martin Luther King Jr a social rights activist, Nobel peace prize winner, leader of American civil rights movement promoted nonviolent tactics. He fought a peaceful fight to end racism in America.

Martin Luther King Jr. reads “The Gandhi Reader.”MONETA SLEET, JR./JOHNSON PUBLISHING COMPANY

King believed in ideology of Gandhi that helped him to end racism in America in peaceful way.

Another quote of this movie taught me that no matter how genius you are, you have to be bold to change the people’s hearts.

“Being genius is not enough, it takes courage to change people’s hearts.”

Don Shirley played at white establishment knowing that another negro was beaten up badly by few white men because he played white people’s music (piano).
